
Anthony Blair
Anthony has been employed as a Process Engineer with Hunter H2O since July 2001, bringing 13 years’ experience in the water industry. Anthony has worked and gained experience in several different roles. Initially employed as a Water Treatment Plant Operator, Anthony has managed and operated water treatment plants ranging in size from 3 to 235 MLD output. Duties included process monitoring, chemical optimisation, water quality analysis and plant data recording. As a Technical Support Officer, Anthony’s key role was to identify opportunities to improve operational reliability of water treatment plants through changes to equipment, control and maintenance procedures. Anthony was also responsible for project managing several process and chemical dosing system upgrades within Hunter Water Corporations (HWC) water treatment facilities.
As a Process Engineer, Anthony now draws upon his operational experience to provide support and technical advice to a range of local councils and regional water authorities throughout Australia.
Anthony has also managed several projects focused predominantly on WTP process auditing and optimisation studies, as well as providing plant/process commissioning support and reporting. Previous to his career within the water industry, Anthony spent 6 years’ in the commercial car washing industry working predominantly in construction. During this time, Anthony was responsible for plantroom/site design, equipment installation/commissioning and all ongoing maintenance and technical support. Anthony was a key member of the team that developed a washwater recycling system and ‘heat pump’ technology which was used in the heating of recycled water.
