Jeremy Smith, CPEng RPEQ EngExec FIEAust

Jeremy is a Fellow of Engineers Australia being a Senior Principal Civil Engineer with 23 years experience in the design of water and wastewater facilities, having worked in concept and detailed design and delivery roles on treatment plants, large diameter pipelines, reservoirs, and pumping stations. He has considerable construction experience, digital engineering and management skills. Jeremy is currently also an Executive Director on the board of Hunter H2O. Examples of Jeremy’s more notable technical achievements include winning numerous Engineering Excellence Awards including Belmont WWTW (Hunter Region NSW), Kingaroy STP (South Burnett QLD), Bray Park 100MLD WTP (Murwillumbah NSW) and Ludmilla STP (Darwin NT) brownfield upgrade. He recently completed the design and delivery of $50 million worth of infrastructure with delegated authority from Hunter Water Corporation as Owners Engineer under an EPCM (Engineer Procurement Contract Management) model delivering a number of pipeline, pumping station and treatment upgrades. In addition to his own technical practice, Jeremy’s current role as Executive Manager, Design and Delivery involves the day-to-day running of our assets, design and project management groups.  As leader of Hunter H2O’s Centre of Design Excellence he brings together the technical disciplines including process, civil, structural, survey, environmental, mechanical and electrical / control to achieve project goals.  The role includes driving digital transformation of our design offering to deliver design outputs which are high quality and meet our clients objectives.
